Minnesota Lynx Shut Down Valkyries to Secure 16th WNBA Win

Minnesota Lynx Shut Down Valkyries to Secure 16th WNBA Win

The Minnesota Lynx continued their dominant run in the 2025 WNBA season, defeating expansion team Golden State Valkyries 82–71 in front of a roaring home crowd. With this win, the Lynx moved to a remarkable 16–2 record, further solidifying their championship credentials.

Napheesa Collier led the scoring with 22 points, while Kayla McBride jumpstarted the team’s offense early in the game. The defining moment came in the third quarter, where Minnesota’s defense shut down the Valkyries—holding them scoreless for nearly eight minutes and executing a 19–2 run. Bridget Carleton nailed a crucial three-pointer during the run that sealed the Lynx’s momentum.

Despite Tiffany Hayes putting up 23 points for the Valkyries, Golden State struggled to overcome the Lynx’s smothering defense and playoff-level intensity.

The Lynx now gear up for back-to-back clashes against the Chicago Sky, with fans anticipating whether Minnesota can continue their march toward a potential WNBA title.
