Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk has officially launched a new political organization called the “America Party,” aiming to provide an alternative to the traditional Democratic and Republican establishments.
The move comes after Musk conducted a July 4th poll on his platform X (formerly Twitter), where over 1.25 million users voted—65% in favor of forming a new party. Musk declared,
“The people have spoken. The America Party is born.”
In a series of follow-up posts, Musk fiercely criticized the recently passed “Big Beautiful Bill”—a massive tax-and-spending legislation—calling it “debt slavery” and accusing lawmakers of driving the country toward economic collapse. The bill is expected to add more than $3 trillion to the U.S. deficit.
The America Party aims to support candidates in key congressional races rather than fielding a presidential candidate. Its focus includes protecting individual freedoms, promoting innovation, and fighting against government overreach.
Although Musk is ineligible to run for U.S. President himself, analysts say the party could significantly influence the 2026 midterm elections by shifting the political narrative and attracting independent voters.
